Wednesday Pet Roundup

Hi and welcome to Wednesday Pet Roundup! Here's Kelly, checking out my "Fur Real" pet guinea pig!

* Last week I reported on the proposed ban on dogs in Jiangmen China, with the heartbreaking outcome of thousands of pets being torn from their owners and relocated or killed.
Now, due to public outcry, NPR reports that public officials have relented and there will be no ban on dogs in Jiangmen China, and residents may keep their dogs.

* We can't say it enough...never leave your pet in a hot car. Check out My Dog is Cool!

* Here's an easy way to spread the word about adoptable pets: share their photo on your Facebook wall. Maybe one of your friends will find "the one" and voila! A match is made. To help pets are spending their last days in a shelter, check out Lucky Dog Pet Pardons on Be the Change for Animals.

* I'm happy to announce Contest Winners: Congratulations to k9friend and iamHolly, winners of my Innova pet food contest! Please email me at peggyfrezon (at) gmail (dot) com with your mailing addresses to claim your prize! Thank you everyone for entering.
