Jumping Kelly

FitDog Friday, co-hosted by Peggy's Pet Place, Slimdoggy, and To Dog With Love! Let's all be fit dogs!

Can a senior dog be a fit dog? Kelly thinks so! She's 11 years old and still pretty spry for her age. She doesn't chase tennis balls, but that's because she's a girly-girl and doesn't like to fetch. But she loves to run, play tug and other games, and she adores jumping. Just watch!

Sometimes she gets a little too much oomph into her jump.

*While we're here, I'd also like to ask for your vote for Dogtime's Petties for my blog post after losing Brooks. We got a little support on that front from PetSmart Charities. Look what they posted on their Facebook Page!

  1. Hey Kelly - that looks like a great vantage point from the top of that table. Good to keep those legs in shape too. Happy FitDog Friday!

  2. Like you said, it's FitDog Video Friday! Ha! Love your vids of springy Kelly!
    Your pals,
    Diane and Rocco

  3. Don't show this video to Sampson or Delilah, they'd love a table they could jump up on and look out the window. :-)

  4. A senior dog can absolutely be a fit dog, especially when you start young and keep up your fitness program for life...which is what I'm doing with Gizmo...I did add my vote to your post for the Petties...Good luck!

  5. Thank you!

Gizmo is lucky to be such a fit and fun dog!

  6. Kelly loves to be up on anything high. She sleeps on the back of chairs and the couch too. Sampson and Delilah probably have a lower window they can see out of!

  7. Looking out the window to alert me to passersby, the postman, etc is what she does best!

I think it's great that Kelly feels spray enough to be jumping at 11.

Hopefully she uses her jumping powers only for good. My first dog, Agatha, managed to eat a loaf of bread off the top of the fridge when she was 16 years old! Believe me, I would have preferred she just jump for a better view.

  9. Way to go, Kelly! Amazing form.

Kelly and Ike say thank you for your comments!
