Meet the Bloggers Hop-- If My Dogs could Talk....

Meet the Pet Bloggers Hop

Here it is, time to meet the faces behind our favorite pet blogs. Our assignment was to answer five or more of the previously posted questions, to include a photo of ourselves, and to link up to the hop. Meet the Bloggers Hop is co-hosted by these fine blogs:
Go Pet Friendly
I Just Want More Puppies
Kol's Notes
No Dog About It
The Daily Dog Blog
My Brown Newfies
Cindy' Lu's Muse
Life with Desmond
Bringing Up Bella
Heart Like a Dog
Rescued Insanity
Peggy's Pet Place
NEPA Pets

And now, for the questions:

What's your favorite non-animal related book?  A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving

What's your favorite non-animal related movie? Groundhog Day (okay, well that is sort of animal related!) and The Grand Hotel, It's a Wonderful Life, Doubt ...just off the top of my head.

What's your favorite non-animal related food?  Ice cream

What's one thing you have to do every day?  Wake up (and it's always difficult!)

What do you wish you were more skilled at?  Promoting my books. I enjoy writing, but I'm really bad at pitching marketing ideas, and getting out there and doing readings and events.

What's your favorite holiday? 4th of July. I love summer, sun, picnics, and fireworks.

What one word would people who know you use to describe you?  friendly

If your pets could talk, what one word would THEY use to describe you? lazy?

Other than blogging, what are three things you do that bring you joy?  My husband, my kids, my dogs. That's pretty good.

What drives you nuts about your pets? What melts your heart? It drives me nuts when, about 10pm every night, they start staring at me, jumping in my lap, barking at me, pushing their noses against my book or laptop or whatever I may have, and basically making it impossible for me to do anything else except to get up and let them out, let them in, give them a snack, fill their water bowls, throw them a ball, and try to figure out what they want.  Pretty much all the rest of the time melts my heart.

  1. Loved that book too - one of those that I should go back and read. Love that picture of the three of you! This was a fun idea - looking forward to reading everyone's post.

  3. Beautiful photos! I know what you mean about promoting, I too can be a little shy about it. Great connecting again.

  4. Great to meet you! Lovely photos!
Groundhog Day is one of those movies I'll just sit and watch whenever it turns up on TV - and in the age of the PVR, I almost always refuse to watch live TV now. Can't help it!

  6. Loved reading your answers to the questions. (Groundhog Day really is a fun movie, isn't it? I adore Bill Murray in all forms.)

    Wonderful photos!

    I love both your pictures.

So did Kelly teach Ike the 10 p.m. routine? Or did he come up with it independently? :)

  11. Great photos Peggy, Sampson sometimes 'bothers' me when I'm trying to get a post up, thank goodness sarcasm is lost on the dogs. :-)

    Loved your answers!

  12. Nice to meet you. Writing and creating sound the same as far as promoting. It's easy to create, but not so easy to promote and sell. We need PR managers. LOL

  13. Nice to meet you! Lovely photos!

  14. I think you've got a consensus on the "Ground Hog Day" movie choice. Great pick!

And especially at this time of year, I am so with you on the waking up part. So much easier to stay snuggled up in a nice warm bed.

  15. Glad to get to know you even better Peggy. Do you think your dogs would really describe you as lazy? Seems ironic since you wrote books about being active with your dog :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I don't know, that question stumped me! I think they'd think I was lazy because I don't jump up and fetch them toys and biscuits every moment!!

  17. I love your photos of yourself! And I love your responses. Don't you wish getting up every day wasn't mandatory?

  18. Love this Peggy and I love the pictures of you! You have a pretty smile! I love the movie Groundhog Day too!

  19. Peggy, those photos of you and your furkids are just beautiful! And I perfectly understand the marketing thing...I'd rather write than pitch, too! It's wonderful learning a little bit more about you through this great fun blog hop!

Sounds like they've got you figured out, Peggy. Zora does that when I'm trying to work. I go through the list of possible things she might want, but I really think it's just because I'm focused on something other than her. She also gets jealous when I pet the cats!

  21. Great answers Peggy, you just reminded me that Norman used to tell me when it was time for bed. He would stare at me lay his head on the couch until I got up and let them out and then when they came back in up the steps they went to bed and I best be following, this would all go on at 9pm. The gang that is left doesn't do that and I can't believe I forgot about that habit. Have a great night.

  22. So nice to meet you and to see your beautiful pictures. Thank you very much for co-hosting this blog hop. It's been great fun meeting the humans behind the pets!

  23. Such gorgeous pictures! And I had to laugh because, as I was TRYING to read your post, I had two pushy pups come nudge my fingers off the keyboard. I think they want out. And their bowls filled. And their balls thrown. :)

  24. I think you're totally right. Sometimes they just want attention. Ike is funny when he wants attention he sits ON you and then puts his face about a half inch away from your face and stares. Oh, that is so darn irresistible!

    ReplyDelete
  25. hehe and I'm sure you obliged. It's just too hard not to, they are so cute. And they don't give up!

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's nice to meet you too, and the beautiful Harper. I am slowly working my way through meeting everyone, it's going to take some time there are so many great bloggers.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm glad that this could help bring back a memory of Norman for you. Brooks used to be that way with dinner time. I had better get his dinner in the bowl at 5pm and not a minute later OR ELSE.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thank you Nacho Noah Buddy and Basil! Hutch a good life is adorable!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I guess I just think they'd think I'm lazy because I don't do what they want me to all the time, like walking them 24/7! But I'm really not lazy, I'm busy all day and night...although they probably don't think so!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thank you! Too bad that writing involves marketing today. But it's still all good. I'm going to hop to your blog soon too :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thank you for the nice compliment. And if it was like in Groundhog Day, I'd get to hear you repeat that compliment again and again.

    ReplyDelete
  32. LOVE the pictures of you with the pups! I can't imagine writing an entire book, let alone marketing it - you are a rockstar :) Your pups just seem to know when you should shut down the computer and get ready for bed!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thank you!! Yeah, I always say the day would be great if I didn't have to wake up. haha. But actually, that wouldn't be so good! I am lucky though, since I work from home I can get up when I want and stay in my pjs!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Maybe this is why I think my dogs must think I'm lazy...because I love the thought of snuggling in a blanket with hot cocoa and a good book!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Nice to meet you too!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Wouldn't it be great if we had nice press people to help promote our endeavors! Thanks for dropping by! :)

  37. Sampson is probably like Kelly and Ike, and just wants your undivided attention.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I've visited your site in the past and love it. I'll drop on by and visit today. I love the name of your blog!

  39. I'm a night owl, and often am up til 1am...so waking up early is never fun. I hope you get a good night's sleep :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think Kelly taught Ike. She is usually the orchestrator of all things naughty. Ike is a pretty mellow dude. I'm going to hop over to visit your post soon!

    ReplyDelete
  41. There are few movies that I enjoy watching over and over, but like Groundhog Day itself, the movie is one that I can watch again and again!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi, thank you for visiting. I look forward to learning more about you as well.

    ReplyDelete
  43. There are so many quotable lines from that movie...and through all the laughs, the message is good too.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hi thanks for stopping by! Promoting is a lot of work and so time consuming. But at times it can be fun, especially meeting new people.

    ReplyDelete
  45. See, I knew we had a lot in common! Besides being future bestselling novelists, right?!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks! It's fun to learn more about everyone too. I'll come visit you soon!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thanks for the compliments, you made me feel good! Dogs are pretty smart aren't they? Ike likes to tell me when it's time to stop working and take a walk too! Have a great day Julie!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thanks so much, and for the comments about book promoting. It sure is hard work, and never-ending. I don't put myself out there as much as I should, and I really should travel more so I could meet all you nice people!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Great getting to know you today!! We have just joined at #91!

    ReplyDelete
  50. This has to be up for best blog hop idea of the year. It is so much fun reading about all the humans out there!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I have yet to see one of my books in print, but I'm with you, I never signed on for this marketing thing when I decided I wanted to be a writer. Yikes! At least you are ahead of the game in that you are published...and several times over at that.

Nice to meet you...and thanks so much for co-hosting this fun hop. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ha ha ha, the 10 pm fussbudget routine makes me crazy too. Dogs are horrible balls of need sometimes... and knowing how hard you work, I find it utterly ridiculous that your dogs would say you're lazy. It's just not possible!

    ReplyDelete
  53. What fantastic photos, Peggy! You're very photogenic. And, writing a book is a huge accomplishment. The world of publishing is changing so quickly - perhaps there are some "less traditional" ways of marketing your books that wouldn't make you so uncomfortable? Sounds like it's time to open a bottle of wine and start ideating.

  54. I can't wake up either, and I can't believe I didn't think of ice cream as a favourite food. Ben & Jerry's Phish Food-- what's your favourite?
