Loving Support for our pets with Cancer HOP

Give Cancer the Paw
Join us today and pay tribute to a special pet who is battling cancer, is a cancer survivor, or has crossed over the bridge.

 My tribute is to Brooks.
I've written about him before. But I can't help it, I can't stop thinking about him. He was in so much pain, but he was so brave. He crossed over the bridge only one day after his cancer diagnosis. By that point it had spread all through his stomach, lungs and brain. And he never once gave us a clue until the last few days.

What I want to share is that losing a dog is always painful. But the time you have together makes the pain bearable. Whether is was a short time or a long time. I have the happiest memories of days with my buddy Brooks. Hang onto all your happy memories. Make the most of each and every day. Tell your pet "I love you" every day.

Brooks-- crossed over the rainbow bridge April 5, 2013.

Join our hop. Give cancer the Paw blog hop is co-hosted by The Writers Dog and Pooch Smooches. Pay tribute to a special dog up with just a picture, or a picture and a few words. For all the pets we've loved.

  1. Oh, sweet Brooks. It's true - the time you spend with your pet does make the pain bearable. Our Abby was chaeted on the quantity of her life, but she had tremendous quality. No amount of time can ever be "enough" with our beloved pets, so we have to make the most of each day that we do have. It's been a pleasure co-hosting with you!

  2. Thank you for hosting the blog hop that I so enjoyed. Bless Brooks and how he touched your life.

  3. Thank you for this special blog hop

  4. What a sweet face!! Brooks' story sounds similar to Moses. They can be so stoic and never give us a clue. Moses never let on other than slight changes in appetite, and then he just stopped eating completely. By then it was too late.
We will always have cherished memories, cancer can never take that away from us!

  5. Brooks was a handsome boy! I love that picture of the two of you! This hop has been a great tribute to all our pets, past and present, who have dealt with some form of cancer. Thank you for hosting it!l

  6. Our pets are always worth it!

  7. So sorry to hear about Brooks. It's true, the time we spend with out pets makes the pain worth it and bearable. I hope people read your post and give their dog an extra hug and some snuggles today, I know I did.
